New Year's Day was really beautiful, here in Arizona. A rare snowstorm blanketed the lower elevations the night before, and the morning sun revealed unimaginable beauty! Snow And Desert, my featured photo from the day, displays the awe and majesty of a snow covered mountain as it meets the desert. As the morning wore on, the trees sparkled with drops of water, reflecting the sunlight, and looking as if thousands of diamonds had descended from Heaven. The result was absolutely enchanting! I will be posting more 'snow shots' over the coming days, and I invite you to check my webpage or my Facebook page to see the new additions.

I was amazed at the symmetry in a decorative cabbage that I found at a nearby nursery yesterday! The fuchsia pink primary color is offset by a, well--cabbage green, and the veining and intricate shaping of the leaves is unworldly! Click the link to view-----you'll be amazed, too!

The detail and texture displayed in this close up macro photograph makes it a real eye-catcher!

The flower display is amazing this year! Right now the cacti are strutting their stuff by putting forth their best display in years! An early riser will receive a special reward, as many beautiful blossoms come out at night and close shortly after dawn. That is the case for the Night Blooming Cereus cactus that I have titled 'God's Trumpets'. I was struck by the pristine beauty of this flower, and the title rushed over me, before I took the shot! I was fascinated by the long narrow throats, and the way the petals opened into a perfect trumpet shape! Adding to the drama, was the soft sunlight as it touched the delicate face of the flower! I am offering this digital art photograph for this week's Limited Time Promotional sale!

I visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, and was delighted to see that spring is up and running! Beautiful flowers are in full bloom, causing the air to be filled with their fragrance. Humming birds were everywhere, fluttering on gentle breezes. I decided to share one of the photos I took that day as my Photo Of The Week. To see more, please visit my website:

I just submitted a new digital art print called, Poppy Globe. I used a photo I had of a Poppy, and digitally gave it the look of a glass globe or paperweight. The Poppy is a fantastic bright red, and the stamens provide great contrast with their mossy shade of green. Click below to view:

My most recent digital art is called Wishing Well, a photograph of an old well as it is viewed framed by the window of a deserted building. This quaint little rock well has a roof that is held in place by rough hewn tree trunks. Filters produced a watercolor painting look. Click below to view:

A couple of days ago, my neighbors and I were treated to a beautiful display of Easter Lily Cactus blossoms! I have photographed this flower, and posted the results on my website in the past, but this cluster was so amazing, that I decided to post both a regular photo and a HDR version. Also, I made the HDR version available in a 20x24 canvas print, at a sale price until 5/23/2012.

I visited Sedona Arizona, yesterday, and returned with several beautiful photographs to share. The color of the rock formations, and the formations themselves are surreal. Whether the sun is shining or mist is falling into the canyons, this area is always a beautiful place to visit!

I am featuring one of my recent photographs of glass walled skyscrapers, that I converted into strong pop art colors. The grids of the window frames that separate the colorful panes of glass, work with the reflections to create a mesmerizing abstract.

Phoenix area was having a bit of weather, so I headed out to The Superstition Mountains to photograph that perfect 'rare desert storm'. The clouds were laying on the top of the mountain when I arrived, but before I reached my photo viewpoint, a cloudburst erupted. When the rain stopped, the clouds began to lift. That's when I flew into action, and was able to capture this awesome shot of a mist rising from a canyon behind a rugged rock formation.
I am making this photograph available in a 24x36 print on canvas for $110, until 5/11/2012.

I went on a little photo shoot in downtown Phoenix this morning, and found a very interesting wall of signs. Arizona is celebrating its centennial birthday this year, and someone very creative had covered the side of a building with road signs, arranging them to read 1912 2012. I have posted photos on my website:

I have just released a new digital art photo with the saying, "Blessings don't always come in a pretty package". This word is meant to be an encouragement to anyone who is going through a tough time. Many times, perhaps years from now, a hidden blessing will be revealed. A blessing that could only have resulted from a situation that looked dire at the time. The sticker ridden cactus plant represents the problem, while the beautiful blossom speaks of the blessing that is waiting to burst forth.

The desert is starting to bloom! We didn't have a lot of wildflower displays, this year, due to lack of rainfall, but the cactus flowers are proving themselves strong. I have submitted several new photographs, and will be adding more as the season progresses. I am always amazed at the beauty of a delicate blossom coming forth from spiny, pricker filled cactus plants. I invite you to tour my page, where you can view a variety of macro shots of fuchsia, orange, yellow, pink, and white cactus blossoms.

Last week I toured downtown Phoenix with the goal of taking abstract cityscapes. The sky was full of soft clouds that reflected gently into the windows of the skyscrapers. I found many interesting shots, and have posted several of them on my site. I invite you to enjoy my tour through the eyes of my camera.
